Description
UV Self-Check Scanner, 1" NPT, 8' Lead, Use with P-Series or Microm / E-Series with 61-5745-3 Drive Circuit
The 45UV5 scanners use a UV-eye detector. This detector is a sealed, gas filled, UV-sensitive tube containing two electrodes connected to a source of AC voltage. When UV radiation of sufficient energy falls upon the electrodes, electrons are released and the inter-electrode gas becomes conductive, resulting in an electric current flow from one electrode to the other. The current flow starts and ends abruptly and is known as an “avalanche.”
A very intense source of UV radiation will produce several hundred avalanches or pulses per second. With less radiation there will be fewer pulses per second. Upon total disappearance of flame, the detector output ceases. Thus, the presence or absence of pulses is an indication of the presence or DESCRIPTION AND INSTALLATION For 45UV5 UV self-checking Scanner Models: 45UV5-1005, -1005CEX, 45UV5-1006, 45UV5-1007, -1007CEX, 45UV5-1009, -1009CEX and 45UV5-1105 For use only with designated Fireye® controls For Infrared Photocell Scanners use SC103 For non self-checking UV Scanners use SC102 SC-101 SEPTEMBER 11, 2014 APPROVED 2 absence of flame; the frequency of the pulses is a measure of flame intensity. Pulses generated by the scanner are transmitted to a compatible Fireye control via scanner wiring.
Features:
The components are contained in a cast aluminum housing sealed with an oil-resistant gasket. The quartz lens is a planoconvex design, resulting in increased sensitivity. Also included in the scanner is an electromagnetic shutter that permits a self-checking circuit to verify that the scanner and signal circuits are producing valid flame presence or absence information. During the shutter closed period, the detector’s optical path is blocked from flame radiation, allowing the amplifier control to verify the proper operation of the ultraviolet tube. While the shutter is open, flame presence or absence is detected. The resultant scanner output (while flame is detected) is a continuous, periodically interrupted, pulsed flame signal which is a prerequisite for energizing the associated Fireye control’s Flame Relay.

Return Materials Authorization
If you need to initiate a return, please fill out and submit the Return Materials Authorization form. Our Customer Support staff will get back to you promptly by email with a Return Materials Authorization number (RMA) and a shipping return label. Returns without an RMA will delay the refund process and will not be accepted.
Product Return Eligibility
Eligible Products - All returned items must be brand new, unused and in their original packaging. Most of our products have 30 days from delivery date to be eligible for a refund (see non-eligible product below). You are responsible for shipping the product back to us, unless the product is damaged or defective. You are responsible for returning products in a safe, unbroken condition, so please pack returns carefully.
You will be credited for the original amount less a 20% restocking fee for the return through the same payment method you used to pay for the order.
Non-Eligible Products - Items that are not in original condition do not qualify for returns. We are unable to return products that have been used or installed, that have missing parts, for which the original packaging has been destroyed, or that are otherwise not in original condition and resalable.
In addition air conditioners and water heaters are non-returnable. Caulks, foams, mastic, tapes are also not returnable as weather related conditions and poor environments affect those items. Hazmat items are non-returnable as well.
Damaged Item Returns
Eligible Time Period: 5 business days from delivery date
If a damaged package is left at your door, please contact us immediately using our Return Material Authorization Form. You may be required to provide pictures of the damaged items in order to speed the process. We will swiftly ship the replacement items for your order. All damaged packaging should be kept because the carrier may choose to inspect the damaged goods and shipping box at the delivery address. We may or may not request return of the damaged goods. If we do request that the goods be returned, we will either issue a Fedex call tag or provide a prepaid return address label to be used for returning those items damaged in transit.
Defective Item Returns
Eligible Time Period: 1 Month from delivery date (unless otherwise noted)
Defective items will be fully refunded. We will pay to ship the items back to us. Since all products are sold under the manufacturer warranty, it is important that you first contact the manufacturer and notify them that the part is defective. You should also request a ticket # or the name of a contact at the manufacturer.
Once you do this, you can fill out the Return Materials Authorization form. Depending on the original method of shipment we will either issue a Fedex Call Tag or send a prepaid return address label to you for return of the merchandise. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping if you do not use one of these methods. If the merchandise fails during the manufacturer's product warranty, but after one year from the purchase date, Energy Conscious reserves the right to refer you to the manufacturer for replacement of the failed product.
Order Cancellations
Orders cannot be cancelled or changed after they have shipped. If you wish to cancel an order that has already shipped, you will need to set up a return and send the material back with a Return Materials Authorization form. You will be responsible to ship the items back to us and also any applicable restocking fees. for the order and the shipping charges associated with the return.
