WEATHERMATE™ Construction Tape from Dow is recommended to seal the joints and seams of WEATHERMATE™ housewraps and STYROFOAM™ insulated sheathings. In these applications, WEATHERMATE™ Construction Tape enhances resistance to moisture and air infiltration. The tape can also be used to repair damaged foam insulation or housewrap, reducing material costs and job-site waste. WEATHERMATE™ Construction Tape provides a permanent tight bond to sheathing board and housewrap surfaces to seal seams and enhance resistance to moisture and air infiltration.
WEATHERMATE™ Construction Tape offers the qualities professionals and do-ityourselfers look for:
- Superior tack
- Impact resistant
- Easy to apply
- UV Resistance
WEATHERMATE™ Construction Tape is pliable, ensuring a tight seal, even at extremely low temperatures. The oriented polypropylene backing is formulated with a UV-treated film to help resist degradation from exposure to sunlight.
For the greatest energy savings potential and weather resistance, tape or patch any tears, holes, breaks or damage created during normal construction.
For best results:
- Apply at temperatures over 15°F. After application, tape will perform in temperatures of -40°F to 220°F.
- Apply to clean and dry surfaces, after evaporation of morning dew.
- For best adhesion, apply pressure to the tape/sealed area. Maximum adhesion will be achieved after 72 hour cure.
